Feelings broken

In darkness deep, my soul doth weep,

For love and joy that I can't keep,

Aching heart and tearful eyes,

In this despair, my spirit dies.

The world around, so cold and bleak,

The happiness I sought, I cannot seek,

With every breath, I feel the pain,

A life of sorrow, my only gain.

In memories sweet, I find some peace,

But they fade away, my soul to tease,

For though they bring me solace bright,

They only serve to dim the light.

Oh, cruel fate, that I should bear,

This weight of woe, this endless despair,

In solitude, my heart doth break,

For love and hope, I cannot make.

And so I live, in misery bound,

A lost and lonely soul, to be found,

By none but death, who'll take my hand,

And lead me to a brighter land.
