Unplug

For Instructions for Disappearing Challenge

Want your good life back?

Life of connection, love and

Lasting full meaning?

Delete your Insta,

Close your Facebook account,

Unsnap from SnapChat.

Un-glue from TicToc

Dis-interest from Pinter

Axe yourself from eX.

You're saying BlueSky

Is new paradise? Wholesome

like good old Twitter?

But think: does it really

make you happy? or weary,

miserable, lost?

Social media

Are not what they used to be.

They want you engaged.

Engagement is key,

Gives them money and power

Over your life and time.

They take your time and

convert it into money

making you their slave.

How do they do it?

Take your time and attention,

selling it for ads.

Their algorithm knows

You and your needs, wants and dreams.

Keeps you glued to screen.

If feeds you more of

what you're craving, amusing

yourself to near death.

You tell yourself, just

ten minutes. Before you know,

Hours of life – wasted.

And you crave more and

More of the same, but slightly

Different, funny.

Good in the moment,

Instant gratification,

Eating up your soul.

Take your self, unplug

From all social media,

Disappear online.

Ground yourself offline,

Enjoy your community,

Reconnect with friends.

Ditch your nicknames and

bury all login info

Avoid being tempted.

Go to the nature,

Smell the flowers, hug a tree,

Count the stars at night.

Disappear offline,

Reappear in real life,

Stay where it matters.

This was a lovely take, a nice perspective for the challenge, it was illuminating. A call for action. Spotting what is eating their soul, calling out those who are responsible. Then it came in. Disappear, calling all to ground ourselves offline. I do go outside whenever I can. And I use to hug the trees, I should go back to hugging them. Nicely done, Lana. Also counting the stars is good idea. Means we can fail and start again, keeps us outside longer 🤗❤️
