Unnerving

by Jessica Taylor

By Jessica TaylorPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Tonight dark and humid;

I walk into bleak and black;

Amidst the shadows I must be;

For the signs are all there.

I know it was stupid;

but that color is all I have;

and I was following the green

Flickering light to be fair.

I follow the rules of the road

But no one else seems to follow

Patience and love is where I am

My heart can't take anymore.

So here is where I offload

Praying for a better tomorrow;

As I walk to and from a place I cannot stand

Hoping i make it safely to my door.

It unnerves me to feel that no one cares

That not all people have a car

That some of have to fight for space

As we trek to where we need to be.

All I ask is that you be fair

When driving watch where you are

Keep the signals and rules of the road in place

As well as your eyes open so you can see.

About the Creator

Jessica Taylor

My deepest desire is to be able to help people; since I am too shy to be a professional speaker I decided that writing is my next best option. However, I do love the feel of the pen upon the page and the clicking of my keys on my keyboard.
