The sun glistened on my cinnamon skin
like sweet butterscotch
Eyes of warm coffee in the morning
Rouge tint of my cheeks as I’m smiling
Birds soar in the blue sky,
Float over cotton candy clouds as I watch them
Stick my bear feet into grainy sand
My dark chocolate hair rubs against my neck
The crisp breeze catches every strand
The Universe’s glorious paint brush can stretch
Across the oceans, mountain tops, and land
Everything must have life in it
As the hues are the breath
These pigments are the spirit
My body is an image of the motherland
