Union Square Concert

lighted portals in concrete walls show humans floating within, shadowed by sheer drapes rippling in a soft night breeze . they ruffle and billow around human heads like cotton puffs . eyes occasionally peek out the glass panes, pushing aside the white veils. music drifts upward , and wafts above the avenue , a saxophone brewing blended notes , an impromptu concert in Union Square.

nightgown pressed against my breast , I lean out looking down toward the boulevard , my hair tousled by a warm air current . horns honk, voices echo in the canyons of city buildings. the melodic musical strain wanders the square, a night time minstrel blessing the city.

A delightful poem… a feast for the senses ✅. My favourite lines are: “a saxophone brewing blended notes , an impromptu concert in Union Square.” & “ the melodic musical strain wanders the square, a night time minstrel blessing the city.” ❤️

I love the atmosphere of this piece, it really felt as though I was there. All my senses were engaged, I have never been to San Francisco, so this was very enjoyable for me. 🤗♥️👌🏽👏🏽

I have to agree with Cathy. I'd like you as a tour guide, Andrea!

This is a very picturesque piece. I felt there could have been another verse as the poem flows, though it is also great as it is.

  • This is sweet stream.

Like it. I can just hear the sax weaving through the urban soundscape. I've always loved that sense of 'designed' sound cutting through the background noise, whether it's church bells, buskers, even a muezzin's call in one place I lived. Admittedly, I was a bit less fond when staying in a hotel a bit too close to a railway station and constantly hearing the 'attention, please' chime that preceded every announcement!

  • Your imageries were so vivid and evocative! Loved this so much!

This vivid portrayal of a nighttime scene is absolutely enchanting. The way you capture the essence of the city with its sounds, sights, and music creates a mesmerising atmosphere. If you have a moment, I'd love for you to check out my latest stories and share your thoughts. Your feedback would mean a lot to me.
