There will always be those
who DISRUPT and DISMANTLE,
TWIST and ENTANGLE, silence and strangle each syllable spoken,
each door left unopen, each footstep that falls,
each laundered line written,
locked secrets well hidden
deeper than the river’s edge.
. . .
There will always be SHADOWS and DARKNESS,
SUTURES and STITCHES,
soft voices, loud noises, reams of PAPER and INK,
and enough TRUTH and LIES
that will either RISE or SINK
no matter what any of us may THINK.
And what remains is the BEAUTY of POETRY
as each word UNRAVELS and UNFOLDS me.
