That night I saw your face in the moon
clear as the waxing gibbous
so close I swore the night’s radiance
was yours
the same radiance
I remember
illuminating my life
brighter than any other light
there you were, your smile
part of the sky
the cold air didn’t matter
as I sat squinting up
at the echo of your loved face
* * *
I stared until I was moonblind
until I couldn’t tell truth from fiction
until I remembered
that the moon always wore your face
* * *
I believe in moons that are gateways
in light that shines on October nights
in paths carved into black spaces
where souls travel, waiting
for a waxing gibbous
in a razor-sharp sky
to light the way home
* * *
And so I wait,
each night a silent prayer,
for the moon to wane and wax again,
to wear your face once more.
For though time dims the stars,
it cannot steal the truth I hold:
you are the light, eternal,
guiding me through the shadows,
until we meet again.

I wish I could share a pic in the comments! 'Dreams, vision, psychic abilities, mystery, trusting intuition, looking beyond surface appearances'. <-- That's Tarot interpretation of the 18th card of the Major Arcana. I'm thinking that's what *you* bring with you when you 'blind' like the Moon.... Mystical. ⚡💙⚡
Oh, wow, but how I do adore this poem, Komal. I am head over heels in love with the 3rd section that illuminates the gateways, carved souls, black spaces, and souls traveling across the galaxies. This poem is absolutely stunning and so beautiful in its depth and intensity.
I have always love your poetry. This is exceptional I love it ♦️🏆✍️♦️
Well-wrought! The light of the moon reflects that of the sun, and the light of the sun bursts from a self-generated mystery. Light... all existence is really light, I think. The shadow play is ours to make, to soothe our burning so(ul)s. You've done an excellent job of that here!
Hauntingly Beautiful; so glorious! 💕
Wow! What a mesmerizing thoughts for moon.
This was breathtakingly beautiful...so romantic.
Ohh this was stunning! I love the element of the moon you incorporated into your piece! Love it, Komal! 💝🌟
I especially loved the symbolism here, where true love means patience. Such a wonder poem!
I love the imagery and emotion in this poem, Komal! Wonderful job!
Love it!
Good one!
I can only say that she is apoet as beautiful as the moon and distinguished by words woven from threads of moonlight BRAVO, KOMAL
I love how the moon symbolizes both presence and absence. It’s so poetic
Your phrasing is exquisite, the emotion beautifully captured.
Aww... The moon blind concept hits beautifully 🦋 It's like a sweet memory shared with extra care and love ✨ From his smile to unveiling the fiction, it was all surreal ❤
It beautifully captures the longing and connection between two souls, with the moon serving as a powerful metaphor for memory and love. Each stanza is weaving a narrative that is both personal and universal.
This makes me smile 😊 I appreciate the fact that we all see the same sun and moon but different angels. There is a uniting factor to the moon especially.
This poem is like moonlight itself—gentle, glowing, and beautifully timeless. Love the way it weaves longing and light into such a vivid night sky!
Both romantic and poignant. This captured the timelessness and the romance associated with the moon so well! Beautiful, Komal!
