I met you on my darkest day.
Heart of hate, mind of rage.
Alone and disgraced.
By everyone, I am replaced.
I have ruined and failed.
I have let go and exhaled.
This is the moment I shatter.
Every piece of me scatters.
“I am more than I seem!”
You must have heard me scream.
“Blink back your tears.”
You brush back my hair.
I feel you here, so very near.
I fix my gaze,
And see through the haze.
A friendly face,
Then a warm embrace.
You pull me together,
Making me better.
Stitching me up,
The love is abrupt.
Your eyes are on me,
And you are all I can see.
Neither of us are perfect,
But both will respect and protect.
Always my hero,
To bring me back from zero.
I hope you can see,
You helped me be me.
I am always in debt,
And I will never forget.
