The way our eyes met
caused my heart to skip a beat.
Butterflies, inside,
electricity
flows from my inner self, out.
Immediately
present, drawn to you.
I’m pulled to you by your spark,
your energy, my
vibrancy, in tune…
Could this be love at first sight?
So unexpected,
this attraction to you.
We approached one another,
and we first spoke, felt
adrift in a haze.
Not in confusion, but in
elation, eager
to be one with you.
Our souls to be intertwined.
To become lost in
you… me… together
as one, wrapped in this cocoon.
I finally feel love.
I can see my heart
alongside yours, soaring high,
above this noisy room.
Everyone else fades out,
as if they never existed.
You and I, connected, alive,
side by side, ever since.
That fateful day changed my life,
and yours, forever.
