Tying Up Loose Ends

To my Father

It's crystal clear that I see you

in a desperate and hopeless way.

Cthulhu would call you

if not, but one thing-

You are sought by nothing,

as you seek not a thing.

I feel at first guilty, sympathy until-

I remember that I have hope

and that you never will.

I love you always; that is certain.

But I relinquish myself of you and your burden.

This is not farewell.

For that, you'd need a hello.

But I am stronger that you

Perhaps, perhaps I always was-

and your painful memory will fade because

you are nothing more than you ever were

and if Nothing else of This I Am Sure!

I will rise above the ashes that burned

I will see through the mist conjured

by...your horrid, monstrous appetite.

I am not weak. You are not wrong.

You are not human.

That is all.

About the Creator

Sara Dillon

Never mind the formality

State clearly what you see

kindness, corruption, greed...

We are the story tellers

Observers of truth

What a waste to hide

What a waste of youth
