A Poem For Christmas Eve With Cats
Introduction
This was inspired by the poem "Twas The Night Before Christmas", my wonderful friend Cherri, her daughter Autumn and their cats. It is meant to be lighthearted and I hope you all enjoy it.

It was Christmas Night In Cherri and Autumnβs house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
Boo, Sasha, and Scratch were sat waiting on the chair,
They had eaten the mice, and now just sat and glared
ππΈπ π¦
They now wanted rewarding with catnip and toys
And some salmon and turkey for dinner my boys
Cherri is their mama and she will serve them so well
They think that they own her, they can jingle their bells
π¦πΈπ π
Although it is Christmas, you know cats donβt care
They just want you to serve them, or you get the glare
They see birds out the window as something to eat
When you open a can thereβs the patter of feet

You are waiting for Santa, on this Christmas Eve
Your cats are waiting for you, theyβre eying the tree
Theyβre jealous because of your opposable thumbs
They are sitting and waiting for their day to come
ππΈπ π¦
You know, really they love you, they cuddle and purr
Boo, Sasha, and Scratch with both of you on your chair
All waiting for Santa to come with his reindeer
A perfect Christmas Day for everyone here

C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S.
This is a free-form acrostic poem, which is really a list of a few things to do in the true spirit of Christmas. The music is βHappy Christmas War Is Overβ by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and I truly wish that all wars were over. Think what sort of world we could build if money was spent to build rather than destroy.
