Fresh cut grass 'neath the old pine tree
Mahogany wood, a cajon, and my strings
I played for you 'neath a theatric sky
You danced for me with the stars in your eyes
I could see
And as the sunlight glistens through...
My Tulip blooms all year long
She's not the words - she's the whole song
So if I sing with you, will my notes all belong?
To the rhythmic beat of a tulip blooming
The thunder will roll as the mountains quake
But nothing can shake the faith I have in you
My Darlin' from the before we meet til' I say "I Do."
Til' the moment I pass, my heart belongs to you
My Tulip blooms all year long
She's not the notes - she's the whole song
So if I sing with you, will my notes all belong?
My Tulip blooms all year long
She's not the notes - she's the whole song
So, when I sing with you, my notes - they all belong
To the rhythmic beat of a Tulip blooming.
This song has a special place in my heart because I wrote it long before I had any real crush. It was written from a place of longing - hope that one day I would have something special with another. And now, I do.
