A poem about the journey through this life of ours.

Without the light above guiding me through

The darkness would surround the world I know

And to miss the turns when it's time would ruin my journey

Without the guidance of the light, I would never finish

-

Lost in the void, we would all be, with the lights from above

Their guidance takes us to unknown delights

Being there for all who are willing to see

It makes it easier to find thee once in the void

-

See one that shines brighter than all of the rest

And know that somewhere, someone else is looking to the heavens

The lights remind us that we're not alone

One only needs to believe to feel its power

-

In the grayest of days, as the smokes rise

Even when the lights are hidden beneath us and the ashes

Deep in your heart is where it resides

The light to guide you past the fires

-

And the ashes subside on a darker and dismal world

All the faces, so covered in its gray fallout

Even the loneliest may not be alone as the dust settles

For it is then that we are all the same

-

We were lost in the void of the never-ending show

And we crawled out from the rubble of our past lives

A voice reminds me I must go soon

For the lights return and guide me on my way

-

One day and one night

Taking the journey as I step through time

Still working my way back to you with each delay that is conquered

Using that brightest star in the heavens as my guide

-

One may not always know in the heart

They may doubt their mission in this world of ours

And one may venture down the worst of paths

But let's not forget that the light is still shining

-

Loves blossoms can be burnt by the fires

And the tests of our faith leave many doubts

To survive the trials of the void, we must

And get back on the journey until we are there

-

Life's troubles will come and go

Some days will be darker than others

But do not fear the scars arising behind you

You're becoming what you were meant to be

-

And on that final day, when you have found the end of your journey

Finally getting to know the monster in the mirror

The lights shone for you all this time

To get you to where you were meant to be

-

So remember to stay the course

And always be true

Even in the void, you can find your way

Just follow the light, and persevere
