Torn From Paradise
All good things can end in a flash.

All good things ripped away in a flash
Yet they are so hard to find
From paradise to expelled in a dash
What an evil trick on the mind
-
Struggle and the fight were meant to be in the rear
Things of importance all to focus on
From the smiles of a happy everyday life
So quickly, it too can suddenly be gone
-
All the pains of goodbyes and goodbyes not said
Behind is all the worry of another war to fight
Simple memories bring a tear for those of the dead
Hands pressed together wishing to again see the light
-
What does one do once expelled from paradise
Feeling the pangs of being unwanted and cast aside
Looking to the skies with worn and wet eyes
Little parts crying from the inside
-
What are you to do when torn from that sweet embrace
The warmth and simplicity of the world had finally been yours
What to do when you can no longer find that place
When life's feeling like it's pushed you out and closed the doors
-
For those who find heaven, hold onto it so tight
Guard it with common sense and use all you can to stay
For those who find peace, remember it well in hell
For there is no guarantee you won't be torn from heaven one day
-
In the blink of an eye, cast out
I think I was in heaven
With all my anger, I shout
I know it was the closest I've been to heaven
