Tribute to Mother

An ode to my kind mother

Mother in backyard, holding a turmeric flower @Seema

That’s my kind mother,

she lived her life of homemaker,

retreated to the background,

stayed house-bound,

helped her spouse steal the show,

but we know,

it was her loyalty and sacrifice

that formed the family's backbone,

which turned the house into edifice.

She managed many children,

endured their tantrums, tensions,

cared for cattle, guests, garden,

with her hallmark compassion.

She showed up every day,

from dawn to night—

no self-indulgence, no complaints,

no arrogance or vanity,

just unwavering duty.

In her mid-70s now,

she is aging, lonely, widow,

she must have many sorrows,

untold stories, guilts,

bothering emotions, regrets,

she knows life's dusk around.

as I see, it's life well-lived.

What a great ode to a mom. Moms are like that, and we all know moms are the real leaders of the household.
