Walking in circles
from one space
to another
nervous? No.
Anxious? Possible.
I have passed
the same piece of paper
countless times.
If I would
pick it up
and throw it away
that would be
one less
thing screaming
in my head.
Slithering sounds
swirl and mingle
together dancing
on every nerve.
The whirr of
the printer's fan
was rudely sliced through
by a ding on my phone.
No, this insanity
must stop.
Crossed arms
over my chest
I lower myself
to the floor.
Breathe in
breathe out
fan's noise
comes through
noise? It was.
Listen again.
transmute the sound
Take a deep breath
listen to it's sound
I hear? Music?
Do
Re
Mi
Fa
So-- oh so good.
Breath again then
Sing, hum, play
with the sound
SSSSSOOOOO
SSSSSOOOOO
Let it sooth you
for as long
as you want.
Look
Not even
a moment or two
have passed
but the time
was better spent
than pacing
and staring
at a stupid piece
of paper on the floor
and obsessing over
who knows what.
