Today starts a three day training for me. There are three other trainers. That means for eight hours, minus lunch and breaks, we will work with a group of 37 registered participants.

The participants are people who work with Native American people in the areas of substance abuse and mental health. Counselors, Therapists, Human services workers in other areas. Educators and others. Twenty people registered are white or caucasian, with the other group being Native American.

We train for 22 hours total in those three days, usually having our short day on Friday. Everyone likes that best. The trainers, the participants, and the venue.

Our topic areas are history, what happened over time and today. Cultural differences are described. Small group activity, and talking circles are included.

After lunch when the group is often sleepy, we will offer a few warm up exercises. I will do a balance exercise, my moms Jack LaLanne wrinkle exercises and what my mom called the boob or peck exercise.

With saving the wrinkle exercise for last, as I love to see others best wrinkle exercise faces. Almost everyone laughs and they help those that are sleepy after lunch to not fall asleep.

Part of the job involves keeping the audience as active participants. We do that by asking that they do some small group exercises. And we have questions after every module that invites them to both ask and answer questions.

My favorites of the day, why
