Written for Kayleigh Fraser's "One of Us" Unofficial Poetry Challenge:

* * *

If tomorrow starts without me

would anyone cry?

who would call my name and miss me

looking at the sky?

* * *

If tomorrow starts without me

would anyone suffer?

or would my friends and family live

happily ever after?

* * *

If tomorrow starts without me

would anyone notice?

or did they all just lie about

the stupid little promise?

* * *

If tomorrow starts without me

I bet they'd forget

Every little painful moment

I had caused with regret.

    We can all hope that we will be truly missed but your poems speaks for so many who wonder if they will be and whether they are truly loved in this world. Great piece!

    Yes, I would miss you hard!

    I love your poem, Anna. I want to be like Huck Finn and attend my own funeral to see who shows and what they say. I have instructed my kids, in fact, to prop my body in the front row. I doubt they will!

    I think it is the opposite. Unfortunately we remember bad things much more than the good ones.

  • Well written ✅… especially the final stanza… people forget the mistakes and remember the good times 💖.

    I loved this poem! If tomorrow starts without me would anyone notice? Am I the only other person who wonders this, or does everyone?❣️

  • "or did they all just lie about the stupid little promise?" That line hit me so hard because I always wonder the same thing too. Loved your take on the challenge! All the best! 🥰🥰🥰
