Today, I met one of the hijacker of Creator's TS comments.
They comment under the comments before the author even sees the comment. I was very disconcerted and very perplexed.
Doing a stupefied and stunned yet much appreciated double take
I blinked twice, in case I had caught a case of double vision-ness
But, it was actually real...I had gotten a coveted TOP STORY
Well, to be fair, I did long ago...in ancient times, receive a few.
Still, it's been a while**Anyway...
I scrolled on down, ready to read the wonderful comments
And hunker down to make some grandiose and noble replies
But...dropping my bag and quill...and sensing something somewhat amiss
I saw everything in double...Aw flurking, fluffing hell
Even the two shadows lurking above my head doubled
It seemed villains were skulking close by
For comments had been commented upon---and not by me
HOW RUDE!!!
I don't recall hiring anyone to speak on my behalf...couldn't afford it anyway
Pshaw!
NO! I will not dignify your interloping, prying or poking your head where it 'don't' belong with a mention of your name
Seriously, if you need to advertise your business...go pay someone to do it
Ah, yes. Now I see what other Vocalites are up in arms about
There are hijackers, invisible ghostly fingers, eyes and dubious encroachers everywhere
It is said we must pick the beam from our eyes before approaching others
I apologize if I have offended anyone...I hope not
At first, I was befuddled, then mildly disconcerted, then became mad as hell...heck and darn!
I felt as if I were replying to this creep, instead of the genuine 'atagurl' words of the very kind and magnanimous readers.
Is it only, or mostly Top Stories that are infected with this malady?

Nope, they don't only do it on Top Stories, unfortunately. They do it on everyone's pieces. It's so annoying!

Lol, I think this will make a wonderful entry to the challenge. Ironically, I just read & commented on a story where I'm pretty sure the comment before mine was generated by AI.

Oh I’ve been there, saw it and shook my head. Report the walk away. It is t worth the ire they cause. Enjoy the true and real comments ignore the crap. But do submit this to the challenge, I would like to hear you read it.
This is quite the rant! I've had similar experiences where comments on my work were hijacked. It's frustrating as hell. You've gotta wonder if it's just top stories or if it happens elsewhere too. Maybe we should start a movement to stop these interlopers. How do you think we could go about it?
I really don't know why they do this, though I think once they realise they won't get on the Leaderboard as most supportive they may drop off, great lines
Yup, I know exactly what you are talking about. I think I told the thing off in your feed. It makes me mad because, as of yesterday, I cannot publish any stories. My Vocal account has been flagged for "suspicious behavior," and I have no clue why. I've been here five years and am in Vocal jail or whatever, but spammers get to hijack and do whatever they like. It's not a good look or feeling, and I am thoroughly disheartened. I can only leave comments. I have stories I'm working on for challenges, and I worry that if my cuffs are not taken off, I will miss out. It's not fair. I've done nothing wrong. Sorry for the rant, oops, but all this extra nonsense going on here is dampening my spirits.
Comment spam is becoming such a pain the a**e. I did a story about a woman giving birth to Lucifer, and a bot representing a male profile commented saying "Brings back memories".
