To Know Thyself

The Discovery Of The Journey To Understand My Identities

Top Story - October 2025

I Began the Search...

I Sought to Find that Which Eludes Most...

Who Am I?

The Wise Men Claim that When You Understand Who You Are...

Nothing Is Impossible.

The World is Opened to You...

The Path to Your Destiny becomes Revealed.

So, I Began to Seek...

To Understand...

To Know Thyself.

I Began with Who I Knew Myself to Be...

Who I had Held Onto for My Entire Life...

That Which the World had Expected of Me...

And That Which I Presented to the World.

It was Within All of this that I Discovered Something I Did Not Expect...

All of these Identities that I Knew...

That I Believed to Be the Fullness of Myself...

Were All Transient.

All of Them.

When I Began to Sift and Weigh Each of these Identities...

I Saw the Truth...

They Would All Become Different...

Or Disappear...

Some Quickly...

Others Over Time...

But None of them Were Lasting.

I Began to Understand and See How these Identities Impacted Others in their Lives...

How Lost and Confused They Became...

The Pain and Agony that Struck at Them...

When these Identities Inevitably Changed.

I Began to See that So Many People who Lived their Lives...

Even those Who Called Themselves Wise...

Only Knew These Transient Identities.

Over Time, I Saw One Person...

After Another...

After Another...

Became Crushed in their Hearts and Souls After these Transient Identities Faded or Changed.

When I Came to the End of My Search...

When I Understood All of My Identities that I had Known...

I, too, Only had Transient Identities.

There was Nothing...

Nothing that Would Remain Over Time.

At the End of My Search...

I Had Discovered Nothing Would Remain.

Yet...

I Knew One Thing...

The End of this Journey...

Was Simply the Beginning of a New Journey...

Where I would Need to Unlock the Secrets...

To Discover What Remains...

After Everything Else Fades...

I Began the Search for the Core of My Being.

Your writing has such calm honesty — it’s rare to find something that feels this real.

Like actors in a play, We all war masks and play the role given. Most by others, and those with leading roles, only change the script, not the show. personas. WE can be whoever we want to be, but are nobody. Makes me wonder, what the thought was behind the pen? If you don't mind me asking.

congratulations on TS. This is fantastic. Whenever I felt like I didn't really know me, I write and lose myself in those words. Then, I realize I'm not just a nobody in a body. Thank you for such a great article.

  • I like this article, examining the inside reflection rather than the titles, names, and other identities that we claim to be. I agree that introspection is part of wisdom. Some will say that lovers of wisdom swim too deep and that society prefers shallow thoughts and they may be right. However, your sageship exploration is more than loving truth or wisdom in my opinion. It's also part of loving life and learning how to survive the hard times such as that awful epiphany that "I am not who I thought I was." Great thoughts Cody.
