I may never use your name
But I use the memories
You gave me
My love
You can never be forgotten
I use the words we said
And the language we spoke
I use the lessons you taught me
And the hard ones
I taught myself from losing you
To be loved by a writer
Is understanding your now
The inspiration
Behind every word they write
And poems they keep to themselves
To every thought
Feeling and emotion
They try to capture on paper
It’s understanding
That they’re up late at night
Filling page
After page
With you
About you
With who you are to them
Being someone to
Someone who refuses
To forget anything and everything
That’s ever happened
Or been said to them
Is one of the greatest gift you could
Ever be given
Because it’s the knowledge
That you’ve been immortalized
By they’re ideas
They’re spirit
They’re words
That you’ve been remembered,
So special you were handpicked
And written down
That you were chosen
And therefore, now
Never forgotten.
About the Creator
Isabella V.
As a teen writing in an adult world, I’ve made it my goal to bring in a new youthful perspective, awareness on a variety of serious topics and issues we face, to light in my free verse poems.
Because if we have a voice, we should use it.
