Tipple

the highlight of my week sometimes

is the dull buzz that three beers brings

the sweet relief encased in a pre-chilled pint glass

...just simple pissy things

cannot wait to open the fridge

and see a row of coldies standing there

all lined up and ready to go

and not one do i have to share

that icy cold pffftttt.....

condensation on the coaster

my amber chalice is held proudly aloft

and revered, by me; the toaster

it's the sip that's a gulp

the endless sparkling drops

the flavour the aroma

of the malt and the hops

a couple won't kill me

but a couple won't do

could easily drink a dozen

but probably only need two

and when all is said and done

it's the perfect way to end the day

pop the top just sit and flop

a enjoy a fluid segue from work to play
