Tightrope

By: Diamond Smith

By Diamond SmithPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

To my hearts' extent, I felt love because that’s what it meant to me

you can never break me but you can also break apart of me

It isn’t just romantically

It felt so fictional

You make mistakes and you fix them

And your peace is medicinal

I round up the pieces like they never have shattered

My tears are dried out

And my nightmares are scattered

At night when the others sleep the tightrope is walked

Feelings of relief and peace are still blocked

Maybe this wasn’t supposed to happen

Maybe we could have just been happy

Another one down is now how they mark

and it’s covered with no sound

But there's wailing loud like barks

A breath of fresh air is a modest relief

make no mistakes for those who are loved and who loved

Will feel grief

Since balance isn't a trait we all possess

Our dreams are on the ground and whatever is left

sad poetry
