Three Minds at Play

What is going on in the mind

By Katie L. KashanPublished 11 months ago 1 min read

Three Minds at Play

Three voices hum within the mind,

A tangled trio, intertwined.

Each speaks its truth, each holds its sway,

Guiding thoughts by night and day.

The Judge, the Watchful, Stern, and Grim:

A shadowed echo deep within.

Born from parents harsh or cold,

It wields the gavel, fierce and bold.

With blame and shame, it cuts, it sears,

Feeding on insecurities and fears.

The Dreamer, Weaver of Fable and Tale:

Soft whispers where fantasies sail.

It conjures worlds to ease the ache,

Where love is given, not at stake.

Through swirling stories, wounds repair,

But truths dissolve like mist in air.

The Performer, Nimble and Bright:

An actor in life's harsh spotlight.

Quick to dance, quick to say,

What keeps rejection far away.

But dangers spark a primal shift,

To guilt and rage, emotions swift.

Together they clash, align, divide—

A theater where selves collide.

Yet somewhere beyond judgment's sting

And fantasy’s endless circling,

There lies a quiet, steady breath,

Beyond the scripts of shame and death.

Listen close to hear that sound,

The mind unbound, the heart profound.
