A brilliant spark put out on display

The loveliest shade in the color of yellow

The kind that forever obeys

Winter skies step aside for her beauty

Autumn leaves mirror her radiancy

Sparks of starlight in deep midnight stirring

The darkness kept hidden in me

Unaware of the light I was missing

Everyday in my world of delight

My reality kindly dismissing

Mediocrity playing polite

She swept through my halls like a fresh summer breeze

Rearranging everything that I knew

A ripple now driving the waves of the sea

Bringing potential new worlds into view

When she spoke, violins started playing

Birds would sing and the sun split the sky

And she did it without even knowing

Somehow she never needed to try

Looking through her eyes was amazing

As an outsider who found the way in

Staring in at her fire a-blazing

Assuring I could be more than I’ve been

Everything that she touched would sparkle

Causing doubters like me to believe

Rolling dice and collecting marbles

Hope and hearts gladly sat on her sleeve

To say that I peeked into heaven

Pulled the curtains back on pinked sunset skies

Took a spin in her happy expression

Traded frowns for a pocket of smiles

I sat in awe of her sense of adventure

Every day was a chance to renew

Fighting for happiness like an avenger

Chasing clouds out of skies draped in blue

I decided to try and be better

Take a page from the book she portrayed

Gladly embracing life’s scarlet letters

Let go. Rebuilt and remade

Gather laughter like rain in a barrel

Follow rainbows through dark stormy days

Bringing smiles easily to my face

If I could bottle that kind of emotion

Money would fall from the sky

A perfect packaged bottle of potion

Brought on by the magic in her eyes
