More Than Enough

For D.K. Shepard's Keep it 100 Challenge

If I could live to be one hundred

Would I surpass your dreams for me

Could I live up to all you wanted

Represent your legacy

One hundred times I second guess it

One hundred ways to let you down

One hundred times I seem to forget

That’s never what it was about

When all you ever wanted for me

Never wishes, fortune or fame

You simply wanted happy for me

The chance to fit and find my place

So, as I go about my journey

A part of you always remains

For pieces of you, live within me

Rooting for me, all the way

You’ve captured the fine line between living up to expectations and people wanting the best for us.

Oh my, Kelli!! This is outstanding! What a beautiful poetic address to a loved one who clearly loved you dearly and was very precious to you! Each line tugged at my heart and it flowed so seamlessly
