Is everywhere
But here

Raging
Ricocheting
Round and round

What did I do?
What did I say?
Can’t stop the words
From repeating

The scenario
The setup
I missed the mark
Now I’m left

With shadows
Of my words
That will forever
Haunt me
*****
Sleep
Oh! Allusive sleep!
Settle my brain!
Take control

Tomorrow
This will pass
If only I could
Just sleep

How many times have we regretted the words spoken or failed to say. As we lay our head upon the pillow, suddenly all the right words find us, holding us captive to their futile loop! Here’s to those moments.
