Velvet raped of its softness, the voiceless stand motionless—subjugated

Only one match—it takes only one match to burn the status quo,

Collective disinterest and grievous indifference—ambivalence dressed as confidence

All we are saying is give... no, not peace—but—everyone a chance to speak to be heard

Lest we forget, those who battled and lost—their lives, their status for their stance against "society".

Tremendous. It poses this question to me of what happens when we don't use our voices, after so many people have fought to have their voices heard? Isn't it a little bit insulting, to be given that power and not use it when other people fought for us to. And not only that, but shouldn't we be at the ready to fight for others when others fought for us? Or do we need to return the favour at all. They've passed the torch, haven't they? So let's strike the match. Amazing work, Paul! [Prize 5/5 - Thank you so much again for entering my challenge!]

Oh, that title grabbed ahold of me and the rest was superb! Very clever and pointed.
