This Summer?

Seeing the world through new glasses

Sun setting at the West Coast - June 2025

The days are getting longer

my dreams are even stronger

the sun, the warmth seduces

as the body clothing reduces

look out the birds are singing

a wonderful summer beginning

.

The wind is smooth and playing

my longing for love I am loudly saying

My eyes go searching for perfection

I drink the view in every reflection

Quietly lying flat on the sand

Hoping to feel and hold your hand.

.

The beach is wide and hot

My life still isn’t full with what I got

Finding new relations and persons

Pushing me out into newer versions

Of whom I was and want to be

Let me - oh Summer - thy grace please see!

✍️ Author’s Note

“This Summer?” is a playful yet quietly earnest reflection on what summer brings — warmth, desire, change, and the fragile hope of new beginnings.

I wrote it with both longing and caution in my heart. After love and loss, one doesn’t simply return to the world the same. Meeting new people, seeking connection — it can feel oddly systematic, even clinical. That’s why I chose the word “persons” instead of “people.” It may sound strange or technical, but that’s intentional. It reflects how modern encounters — especially after grief — sometimes feel more like searching through categories than truly meeting souls.

Yet the poem, at its core, is hopeful. I wanted to let the rhythm of summer carry me forward — to remind myself that transformation is possible, and that grace might still be found under the sun, in a glance, or in the simple touch of another hand.

My dear friend, it is so good to see you trying to move on. That is what Peter would have wanted. You will never lose the memories you have with him. It is difficult, I know. I'm trying to move on and find love again after my 26-year marriage has come to an end. It is different world out there for me. I believe that if it is meant to be there will be someone. Same for you.
