This Shell

Inside my Shell

inside this shell

there's a smell

an invisible stench

33 long, stale years

putrid, stank

so foul, so disgusting

so much it fumes the soul

the mind plays

the body aches

wanting morbid pleasures

unspoken passions

never conceived by one's own will

this shell

strong and intimidating on the outside

many layers throughout

but still hollow

in the center

childhood dreams mold there

desires for love, attention and protection

reside where?

down there

down here

where i've been waiting

rotting

rotting

for 33 long years

inside this shell

sad poetry
