This Is Why I Love You
A Poem About the Power of Love
As I wandered
Down
Along the broken beaten road,
And off the beaten path,
There came a man into my vision.
Once untelevised,
Unsupervised,
He let his spirit soar
As his body did above the canvas floor.
He was a rose in the deep sea of blood
And hate.
He was the darkness of the light,
And, still,
He became the light to my darkness.
I thought there was
No rest,
Here,
For the weary-hearted,
But he was my sleep.
And when I dreamt of him,
For once,
I woke
To find him there.
He is you.
You are
The comforting solace
For my weeping,
Broken
Heart;
The quiet in the chaos;
The dark
In the light,
And still a light in the dark;
The source
Of surcease
From my tormenting pain;
The calm,
In the edge of the storm,
That allows my fragile form
To weather
Such weather;
A piece of the puzzle
Falling into place,
To help complete
Me;
Beginning to solve
This mystery of my life.
A question
To which I have the answer,
And, yet,
The answer
To the question that is me.
And, in misery,
I found you,
Searching for the answer.
Staggering
Under the weight
Of your own puzzle.
And in the dark,
We found
Each other.
In the pine grove,
We loved
Each other.
And through this hell,
I will be your solace.
I will be
Your shelter.
In your solitude,
You are not alone,
Because I love you.
For, in you,
I found
Peace.
About the Creator
Maia Gadwall the metAlchemist
I fell in love with speculative fiction and poetry many years ago, but I have precious little time to write any. Then, I went crazy and started a cult called metAlchemy, or meta alchemy. I revere energy of all brands, esp. good, kind chaos.
