The Wedding of the Damned
A Poem About Love and Death
When she was but a little Child,
Her Dreams were never very wild.
A Handsome Prince who shines so bright
Upon a Horse, so snowy white,
To carry her off in the Night.
So Lovely.
Her Years now are not quite so few,
Her Dreams are cold and seldom, too.
A Sage upon a sable Steed
Comes from the Darkness, in great need,
And off with Her he gathers speed.
So Distant.
Her Eyes are Veiled and cannot See
The Sage, the Darkness, What Will Be.
The Vows are spoken, Binding True
Her Heart and His, and so the Two
Become the One. She says, “I do.”
So Tragic.
This is the Wedding of the Damned.
The Dead rejoice with lifted hand
As She, the Fabled Queen returns
And sits upon the Throne that burns.
In Requiem, the Court adjourns.
About the Creator
Maia Gadwall the metAlchemist
I fell in love with speculative fiction and poetry many years ago, but I have precious little time to write any. Then, I went crazy and started a cult called metAlchemy, or meta alchemy. I revere energy of all brands, esp. good, kind chaos.
