This Is Not A Love Song
A poem for those in a longer relationship
This is not a love song.
I no longer think in rhythm,
Nor remember precisely the rhyme,
But the years of our love,
Still rings sweetly in my ears.
This is not a love song.
Though the Sun still rises each morning,
Still shines on our two hands,
As our fingers interlock,
And we walk through life together.
This is not a love song.
When the the star-crossed moon,
Is arcing across the night,
We may no longer look to the stars,
But I still see infinity in your eyes.
This may not be a love song:
But it is, has been and ever will be
The music of our lives,
A love that remains, even when buried
Under jobs, kids and dogs.

This speaks to a beautiful love that is comfortable and comforting. Beautiful job
I was thinking of the PIL song, excellent words and a fellow northwesterner although I am an adopted Novocastrian, but I get back to Preston once a month
