I'm that girl;
The one who carries hidden scars from the past,
Hidden scars from past bruises on the body, soul,
And mind.
I'm that girl;
The one who speaks honestly about her pain,
Only to find herself walking alone in the rain.
Im that girl,
The one who suffered in silence;
While they used me as a physical human
Punchbag, and a mental one too.
While they;
The ones who were supposed to help me,
Left me suffering deep wounds,
Deep scars;
Things a person can't just forget.
I'm that girl,
The one who suffered alone with
her truth;
While everyone denied it,
Tried to manipulate her into not speaking it;
By filling her head with lies,
Telling her she's mental,
And saying "It never happened."
Let me tell you;
Whether you like it or not,
I am that girl;
And today, I am this girl,
Trapped between womanhood,
And childhood,
Because of an abusive past, I never asked for.
I am that girl.
And,
This is my truth;
For my truth must be told.

We all have times like that where we take the brunt of everything and have to face reality. A good story for those who struggle. Thank you.
Very relatable but I learn to advocate for myself until someone listen to my truth . Sending you hugs ! π
Another beautiful piece, Carol.
