They stole it

From me

The name

My Mother used

To whisper

In my ear

When the nights

Exploded.

They stole it

From me

The family

I Clung to

My hope

My future

My dream.

They stole

It from me

The childhood

That was supposed

To be full and

Innocent.

They stole it

From me

The home

I once knew

Warm and secure

And for what hate?

They stole it

From me

The pieces of my

Dignity.

They tried to

Steal my Faith too

Break me down

Until

I stopped

Believing

But G-D is

Stronger than

Their hate.

They stole

My dignity

And my Name

But they could

Not steal

That childlike Faith

Even in the

Midst of a

Nazi hell.
