They Came Without Sound

Visitors who didn’t want to make friends

They Came Without Sound

They came without sound

not a hum, not a flare, just nothing

no fire in the sky

no message in light

Just stillness

then shadows

then shapes that didn’t fit

I saw them from the hill

too many to count

silver like mirrors

but wrong in the way they moved

The sheep ran first

then the dogs

and then the wind stopped

We don’t speak of it now

not out loud

but we all remember

what the sky looked like

that night it blinked

and never truly opened again

Wonder if they are still here from that space alien invasion. Good job on a sci-fi poem.
