these hands of mine

they once held you

Second Place in Moment of Silence Challenge

so much time apart, my love for you has proven to be

immortal, so I sculpted you into a statue,

leaving the world to wonder how many days I took on your

eyes to chisel that come-hither look

never knowing that I spent a decade

carving your ears to tell you

everything I wish I had said

About the Creator

Daniel K

I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.

I sculpted you into a statue. It is kind of sad however. Everything you wish you had said. Nicely Done!!!

Extraordinary. Your skill with your pen is as great as the chisel in the narrator’s hands.

The ending makes this. Such a powerful message. We all turn to stone too often, heavy with the weight of fear and worry. Nice work.
