Introduction

This is my eightieth piece inspired by Angie Livingstone's magnificent artwork.

The music is the wonderful " Troika from 'Lieutenant KijΓ©'" by ASergei Prokofiev, which I think perfectly brings to mind falling snow as you listen

If you would've told me this morning that tonight, I'd be reading, and enjoying, an Ekphrastic Costanza, I have to admit, I'd be combing my Seinfeld memories for any reference to "Ekphrastic." Now, ten hours older and scores wiser, I see the light. It's such a lovely form and you give it the full attention it needs to be good. I think I might carve a wooden plaque and hang it over my front door. It will read "Here is the place friendship comes first." What a great line. I'm also really impressed by the way the poem created by the A lines compliments the overall poem. (If there are terms for the "two poems," forgive me as I'm only borne into the world of costanzas, ekphrastic and otherwise ten short hours ago. It's a very well done poem. I hope it's recognized as such.

Another interesting form I'll have to try. Your words do a great job of describing the experience of the image. Well done.
