Then, I killed a star

To be normal, right?...right?

I remembered how you smiled

The small sparks in your eyes when your soul flicked

You didn't know some of those were lies, but you tried it all

You stretch that beautiful brain of yours

Not knowing what mistakes were

You didn't take breaks; you didn't believe in sweets

You and only you put yourself in front of a bullet

Not to save someone, no, you were never the hero type

You wanted to see if you could take it, then once you did

You took another, then another, down a unique part of you

Not knowing you saw dust coming out of you

You're holding onto your heart to make it beat a little faster

Just for you to take more in, and not just bullets

Fires, Butterflies, Hurricanes, and even Lighting

Then bottle it all up, shake it down

To see if your skin will turn into a blaze of glory with all the holes in you

Then you held your breath under the night

Questioning yourself that you can't fight

Your fingers twitch, trying to feel bark on trees

Your fingernails won't reach eternity

And in the car you would try to hotbox the mirrors

Telling me how your life is, and what it's supposed to be

Walking up this hill, you spoke about our childhood

How magical and mystical we were

Now, we are wearing ripped clothes and trying to stay warm

You cried, telling me how tragic you are

How dread and dust overwhelm you.

I punched you in your gut, making your body dance with pain

But didn't notice that well behind you

You smile with a lighter in your hands

I ran forward trying to grab a limb

Then, seeing sparks going from your eyes

Creating a flame while falling into simmering waters

A bonfire explodes from there, reaching towards the dark skies

I grab a stick as I see angels falling, rushing towards us

Swatting them and demons who are grabbing your ashes

Rivers crashing inside me, breaking my bones

Once the chaos fell into the sunlight

I was just standing there

Too afraid to see what you've become

and what I have done to you.
