The yearning heart at sea.

The sound of rushing waters continued to flow,

It rocked back coming and going, to and fro,

Stretching first it’s wave of assault to then come back in retreat,

But no matter how many times it failed to entirely cover the shore,

It would never yield in defeat.

The scent of the salt air stirred amidst the stormy clouds,

While it’s gentle touch caressed the hair of a fair brown haired maiden,

As a reminder of her hearts desire, as a stirring of her memory,

The feeling of her lovers hand as his lips were placed upon her forehead.

She stood day by day, this day being Monday, October the fourteenth,

The sound of thunder throughout the heavens no greater,

Then the storm that swirled and raged in her heart.

Tear drops began to flow at the touch from the droplets of rain.

The gentle sound of a dove in mourning, fluttered humbly in her heart.

She stood upon the dock, gazing, yearning,

Hoping for the sight of her dearly beloved.

She stood there as she gazed into the west fold,

Into the heart of the boundless sea,

“I do believe he will come home,

I believe, he will come home… To me…”
