A Poem

My version of healing begins with not being consumed by those no longer within the chapters of my life,

my heart strings reattaching itself,

my art reflecting progress,

and my words being the vessel of continuous growth.

Anything reflecting my past is an acknowledgement,

I have grown and I have learned.

Past hurts have embedded their lessons in my skin

and I use that to fuel the world I wish to live in.

I consider my answers to life and choose silence when words will fail.

Being still and living everything moment to moment,

anxieties being released.

I have left one world and started creating another,

a space to breathe air that isn't filled up with voices of the past.

I have never known such cleanliness before.

I am free.

These lines wrap up the poem beautifully - I loved it! I have left one world and started creating another, a space to breathe air that isn't filled up with voices of the past I have never known such cleanliness before. I am free.
