The World as we know it

Something I really don't understand.

Is society's impossible demand.

For everyone to always be so thin.

To follow trends or you can't fit in.

It is unrealistic and completely unfair.

Being judged by the clothes that we wear.

Judged for the strange things we might say.

No choice but to hide ourselves every day.

Some people care only for money and wealth.

When some here can't even afford good health.

And sometimes someone might take a stand.

But by corrupted society they get the back hand.

And right now we live in almost a police state.

Ten years ago I never could've imagined this fate.

We're made to believe that we have full freedom.

But when a certain man protested, they beat him.

We're told we must achieve in life on our own.

When humans aren't even made for life alone.

Maybe someday our whole world could be better.

If we challenged all these social problems together.

Samantha Long

I have a passion for the arts in all forms, however, writing is by far my favourite, because I think that the meaning comes from the narrative or message conveyed by any piece of artwork in any shape or form
