Standing in a square,
People everywhere.
Step out, do I dare?
I really shouldn’t care.
Walking through a crowd.
They say I’m too loud.
Being here, am I allowed?
I need to stand tall and proud.
For years I felt trapped.
Told myself to adapt.
I let myself feel flat.
I deserved better than that.
Put me down as they saw.
I was always something more.
Had me convinced I was a bore.
Now I’m stronger than ever before.
I’m so happy now I see.
It’s okay just being me.
Can’t put me in a category.
Because this is who I’m meant to be.
About the Creator
Samantha Long
I have a passion for the arts in all forms, however, writing is by far my favourite, because I think that the meaning comes from the narrative or message conveyed by any piece of artwork in any shape or form
