The Woods have Eyes.

A not so subtle disappearance. How to vanish, gangster style.

By Novel AllenPublished 6 months ago 2 min read

"So what did you two idiots do with the body...I hope there is no trail back to here...I don't want to have to dirty my hands getting rid of you".

Mick and Rick glanced at each other fearfully. They knew their boss was not joking, they had seen her dispose of annoying hires without even blinking her pretty eyelids. She may seem young and innocent...but she was a monster...taking after her father...God rest his evil soul.

Marla was a devil with knives, she could throw them with a precision far too accurate for one so young and dapper...and guns...well, she had mastered them from she was a wee lass. Her crazy papa had taught her well.

They remember what she did to the ones who 'offed' him. Their bodies were never found. Rick and Mick had made sure of it.

"We buried it in the woods Boss, just as you said".

"Ok, tell me exactly what you did. Leave nothing out".

Their minds flashed back to last night.

........

Mick and Rick smiled sadly.

We used the art of clandestine woodland body-hiding - equal parts mystery and strategy. A step-by-step guide that treats your secret stash like it's worthy of legend (because, naturally, it is).

"Aw, shuttup with the poetry and get on with it". Marla growled, throwing the coffee cup at their heads.

They dodged it artfully.

"Ok, boss...sorry".

🧱 Step 1: We Prepared the Treasure

- Waterproofed it: Used a sturdy, sealed, thick plastic wrapper...content double bound in moisture-proof layers. No way any animals will ever get to it.

- We Disguised ourselves...changed the licence plate, in case anyone saw us...not to worry, no one did. We covered the car with earthy tones, the wrapping you bought with bark leaf color to blend in.

Marla rolled her eyes...but said nothing...the color was actually earth brown, a totally unforgettable shade for anonymity.

🕵️ Step 2:

- We Choose the Sanctuary - Seeking obscurity: Found a location off the beaten path, away from hiking trails, campsites, or common wildlife routes.

- There was Natural camouflage: We picked an area with plenty of foliage, fallen logs, no distinct markers like moss-covered stones.

🕵️ Step 3: The Dig

- We Dug long, deep...at least 6 feet, to avoid animal interference and seasonal changes.

- No visible disturbance: We avoided leaving mounds...smoothed the soil, scattered leaf litter, and pressed it down to match surrounding terrain.

🔐 Step 4: We totally Secured the Secret

- No markers, like the three stones placed in a triangle or a knot in a nearby tree bark like we did last time.

- Didn't write it down, keep a record, or encode the location using poetry, riddles, or symbols only we could understand.

🌙 Step 5...We left Like Shadows.

- Changed our route on our way out...varying our path to avoid creating a visible trail.

"Good"! Marla...Diabolical...Satisfied.

.........

Marla's sister had simply vanished.

She is still waiting to be found.
