The woman.

Virtuous One.

By Alika Jesse Chukwudi Published 6 years ago 3 min read

Kemi grew into adulthood, she gave life her very best shot. Kemi drove life easily and with all tenacity did she command the world around her. She was asked where she got her strength and sense of belonging, she affirmed that her mama is a super woman.

Bolanle is the fly girl that will always show her mannerless lifestyle every now and then, her voice flowed with words that could put to asunder the effort of another man. Guess what? Her mama lived a life of 'nobody better pass me'

Mirabel got married to Jide, a marriage that turned sour because Mirabel would never allow Jide become the man of the family. She'd always abuse him with words, Jide lived in trauma. If he ever speaks up, she'll starve him the fruit that lies between. Well, Mirabel didn't happen, her mother's lifestyle forged her.

Keziah tormented Emeka with her unfaithfulness in a marriage that has barely lasted a year. Keziah shares a fruit to every man that comes her way. Emeka now lives in shame and regret. After due consultations, it was discovered that Mr. Okoroafor suffered same in the hands of Keziah's mother.

Njideka has caused more harm in her husband's family with her gossip and mischief. With her words, she could make two individuals shed their blood. During her childhood, she saw her mom spreading falsehood and she learnt it painstakingly.

Remi is now in coma because Amara his dearly beloved wife has finally broken the constituents of his upper limb after she has pounded him like 'fufu' in several occasions. Well, her mum sent her father out of his house with same lifestyle.

-Virtuous Woman.

We've met virtuous women,

But we couldn't see beyond beauty.

We've met virtuous women,

But we never believed they'd hail from our society.

We've met virtuous women,

But they were not fair fine women.

We've met virtuous women,

But all we wanted was a Slay Queen.

We've met virtuous women,

But they weren't from rich homes.

We've met virtuous women,

But they couldn't bag many degrees.

We've met virtuous women,

But we couldn't see beyond their dark skin.

We've met virtuous women,

But they don't know the use of a Mascara.

We've met virtuous women,

But we couldn't see beyond the facial foundation.

We've met virtuous women,

But their skirts were too long.

We've met virtuous women,

But their cleavage they always cover.

I overheard a virtuous woman advising a 'boyfriend' just like Lemuel's mother did. From her voice exuded wisdom that would rather land the 'boyfriend' on a higher ground, she did it as if she's a mother.

She said; 'Never misplace your priorities, and always have time to invest in yourself.'

She said; 'Even if I'm not the one, always place your integrity above all things.'

Those words penetrated the ear of the 'boyfriend' and found its way out through the other orifice. Sad!

Behind the scene, I asked, 'will you marry her?'. He replied sharply 'For where?', no be friend we dey friend?'

Such a waste of advice and relationship!

At the end of it all, the tale will be;

He had a one time loyal lover, a true believer of his dynasty.

Despite ups and downs, twas a fellowship filled with serenity.

He became everything she has always avoided. Twas never an issue anyway.

Now, how did the 'had' and 'was' happen?

He needed lifelines. In the quest for more lifelines, he lost it all.

Butts, boobs and curves crowded his thoughts.

He chased all that was bulged and disregarded all that was pure and serene.

He never knew all he was chasing were all mere mirage and emptiness clothed in curved, boobed and butted apparel.

He never knew that all he needed was just within. He went on chasing shadows and burning bridges...

Be that as it may, both genders might be cracked up by what happened during the stage of functional installation (Theta).

Let's train a better folks that won't burn bridges.
