The Wishing Well

Wishing well

By MinakshiPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

There once was a little settlement in the middle of a big forest. The village was renowned for its picturesque landscape and its magical wishing well, which was located in the middle of the community. The wishing well was supposedly sanctified by the community's patron saint and was thought to have the ability to grant any wishes that were cast into it.

Lily, a little girl, and her parents visited the village one day. She made the decision to go there since the tales she had heard about the wishing well had captivated her. She noticed that the well was surrounded by locals who were making wishes and tossing cash into it as she drew closer to it.

Lily chose to grant her own desire. With her eyes closed, she expressed her wish while dropping a coin into the well. But when she finally opened her eyes, she discovered that her coin was now on the ground after missing the well. As she was ready to throw it again, she picked it up when an elderly guy walked up to her.

He questioned her compassionately, "Are you trying to make a wish, little girl?"

Yes, Lily affirmed. But I didn't see the well.

Old man grinned. "Avoid worrying. Making a wish doesn't need dropping your penny down the well. You can still make a wish right here and it will be granted.

Lily was taken aback. "Really? How?"

The old guy said, "You just need to close your eyes, make your wish, and believe in it with all your heart."

Lily made a wish while holding the coin firmly in her hand and closing her eyes. She wished her family and everyone in the hamlet prosperity and success. The elderly guy had left when she opened her eyes.
