The Window That Waited
A Ghazal of Unsent Signs and Unspoken Ends
By Rahatweb WebsitePublished 8 months ago • 1 min read

This ghazal explores the tension between presence and absence, memory and silence. The poet is left with unanswered longings—tracing a vanished path, watching the wind for a scent, and writing verses where love lingers but never concludes. It’s a delicate meditation on longing that quietly resists closure.
In the heart of night, no trace of you was found,
The moon arrived—but bore not your sound.
My eyes fixed upon the road silence crossed,
No message came; no distance was lost.
The wind passed by, but brought no scent of you,
The window waited—but never pulled through.
In my verses, the scent of your love remains,
Though our story found no joyful refrains.
