the wind

a short poem

By Stephanie HiltonPublished 5 months ago • 1 min read

if the wind had blown my way,

i'd be smiling every day.

if the four-leaf clovers grew 'round my feet,

perhaps i'd not be evaded by sleep.

if the sun were to shine on my face,

i'd know i was in the right place.

there is no wind.

the ground is bare.

and all i see are clouds

– but the sun must be there.
