The wheels of life turn still

Don’t pass your chances to tomorrow’s fate

The wheels of life turn still

but it doesn’t turn forever.

Enjoy life now, today, every day,

for we never know

when there will be no tomorrow

The clock hands move in quiet sweep,

each second lost, a memory deep.

What once was bright may fade away,

so grasp the light while it still stays.

Footsteps echo, soft then gone,

shadows stretch but not for long.

Moments slip through open hands,

like grains of time, like shifting sands.

Laughter lingers, then it fades,

whispers woven into shades.

Yesterday cannot return,

its embers cold, its bridges burned.

No path rewinds, no voices wait,

no second chance to alter fate.

Love, regret, and dreams untold,

all must rest in hands grown cold.

So speak your heart, embrace the day,

before the dusk calls you away.

For when the wheels of life stand still,

they do not turn, they never will.

A poem that will have you rethink time. Good job.

I loved this. You have a powerful pen. Can I ask, they will publish a poem of any length, but a narrative must be 600 words. Does that sound correct?

  • Love this one. Good work.
