The Weight Is Heavy

The Burden Isn't Mine Alone

1 Corinthians 12:25-27 NIV

God did this so that our body would not be divided. God wanted the different parts to care the same for each other. [26] If one part of the body suffers, then all the other parts suffer with it. Or if one part is honored, then all the other parts share its honor. [27] All of you together are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of that body.

I wanted to write

Something different today

A sweet love poem

But life took things

A different way

And now my heartaches

And breaks

Friends near and dear

To me

Fighting simply

To survive

And a Pastor

Who in his own

Trials

Takes the time

To email me

To thank me

For what I'm doing.

~~~
Two friends
And a Pastor
One ventilated
Two fighting cancer
Different forms
Different stories
As another navigates
Grief in the storms
As I shared the
News of our mutual friend
Upon her request I
Didn't pause and think
About how familiar
It must have all
Been.
~~~

I took on the responsibility

Of taking on

The prayers

Reaching out

When there's a need

But there's a weight

To every prayer

A burden not mine

To bare

And still my

Heart hurts

As I see

Those I care

About hurting.

    Kind of sad Michelle. I challenge you to write something upbeat for Valentine's Day.
